I’ve got two little big things to announce.
#1—I’ve decided that this Christmas season, I’d like to donate a deluxe family session to a family in need. (I have NEVER given out a free DELUXE session before, so this is big people!)
Now I’m not talking about someone who is struggling to pay their mortgage on their second home in Tahiti…I’m talking about someone who is struggling with the hard circumstances that life has thrown at them—job loss, health problems, death, divorce, etc. Things that would make money a little tight, and therefore putting custom family portraits low on the list of things needed.
If you would like to nominate someone who falls into this category, please send me email explaining the family and the circumstances—lavenderlimephoto(at)gmail(dot)com. I will read the emails and have a few people I know also read them and together we will choose a family we think really deserves a free deluxe session! The deadline to finish this is Dec. 15th. I will announce the winning family on the 16th.
There are three stipulations to the free session: This is for an immediate family only, the family must be able to travel to Box Elder County, and the session must be taken some time in 2012.
#2a—Gift certificates are once again available on my blog! Over on the right sidebar. –--> You can purchase gift certificates to give as Christmas gifts to someone, or keep for yourself! (Go here if you want to know the difference in the sessions.)
If you purchase online, I will email you a filled out certificate (so please tell me the name of the receiver). You can then print it out and give it to that special someone. If you live by me, you can also come get one directly from me if you’d rather do that. Gift certificates expire one year from the date of purchase—because let’s face it, if they’re not used in a year then they probably never will be.
Keep reading, because this may persuade you get a gift certificate.
#2b—I have been working hard, taking classes, learning and investing money in equipment and photo editing tools. As I look back at how far I’ve come from the beginning, I know I’m a better photographer. I strive to keep my prices low so most everyone can afford me, and I feel like I have some of the best clients around!
With that being said, I will be raising my prices Jan. 1st. I know, not the news you wanted to hear. No, I’m not going to raise them a ton, just $5-15 depending on the type of session—I strive to keep my prices low and competitive! I have had 3 people in the last two weeks tell me I’m way too cheap for the work I do, so I know I’m not just tooting my own horn here.
On the positive side—any gift certificates bought now will get this year’s prices! Also I am in the process of getting more professional packaging and CD’s for you! I can’t wait to show you what I’ve got up my sleeve!
So, go buy your gift certificates and don’t forget to nominate a special family for a free deluxe session!
